Lapeer, MI — November 6, 2019 — Web Centre, a website design and marketing company based in Lapeer, Michigan donated $10,000 to two local area non-profit organizations in the city of Lapeer. The donations, which were made at the company 10 Years In Business celebration event, were given to The Child Advocacy Center of Lapeer County and The United Way of Lapeer County. The donation marked the second time in as many years that Web Centre has donated to Lapeer-based nonprofits, with the other two organizations being Stone Soup Food Bank and Lapeer Area Citizens Against Domestic Assault (LACADA) in 2018.
In addition to the donations, Web Centre was celebrating 10 years in business in Lapeer. Started in 2009 by Robert Norcross, Web Centre has been the go-to company in Lapeer for the past decade when it comes to web design, online advertising, and any digital marketing needs that a business has.
Founder & CEO of Web Centre, Robert Norcross, said about the donations, “I don’t think that there is anything better than helping somebody that is in need. I started my web design company in Lapeer when I was 19 years old. Then it was just me and a couple of clients. Today we have a full team and work with 100+ businesses. We also have 70+ 5-Star reviews of our business online – and I’m VERY proud of that fact! Given that success, we wanted to give back to our community. We’re so proud to be celebrating this huge occasion and moment in our company history!”
The Child Advocacy Center of Lapeer County opened in 2008 and was the first organization in Lapeer County to create a non-threatening, child-friendly place for children to share their traumatic experiences. Prosecutors, law enforcement, child protective services (CPS), and medical providers all came together to this single location to collaborate and ultimately reduce the number of times the child would have to share and relive their story.
United Way of Lapeer County is striving to create a better community for all. They are focused on early literacy and having our children reading at grade level. United Way is collaborating with area nonprofit agencies and working to reduce the trauma to children in our county through advocacy and prevention efforts. They also strive for excellence and work to keep our Veterans secure and informed, and to make sure all our neighbors have a warm home and food on the table. That’s the United Way!
